Swar Sagar School of Performing Arts  – A registered School of Music, Dance & Fine Arts Trademarked and affiliated to Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. Swar Sagar School was founded in 2005 by Late Prof. G.D. Samar under the guidance of world famous Sitar Maestro Padama Bhushan Late Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan. Swar Sagar offers a great opportunity for the students of all age group like (Kids, school students, college going, working or old people) to learn & perform music at different levels. We have certified instructors on board providing quality education in the field of music, dance & Fine Arts.We conduct stage shows, workshops to promote Indian and Western performing Arts and to showcase the skills & talents of our students which help them develop self-belief, confidence and professional acumen.

Padama Bhushan Late Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan

Late Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan was an Indian sitar player. Usatad ji received the national awards like Padma Shri (1970) and Padma Bhushan (2006) and was awarded with Sangeet Natak Academy Award in 1987.Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan regarded as one of the ‘Sitar Trinity’ of India along with Ravi Shankar and Vilayat Khan and is the youngest of them. He was born in 1929, in Jawra, Madhya Pradesh, as the son of Jaffer Khan, a versatile vocalist, sitarist and beenkar. He hails from the Beenkar Gharana of Indore. He has been a distinguished All India Radio Artiste since the early 1940s.

Guitar Maestro Late Prof. G.D. Samar

Late Prof. G. D. Samar A Discipal of Padama Bhushan Late Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan, he was the first to introduce Tarabdar Chikari base guitar in 1960 when only Brij Bhushan Kawra was playing classical on guitar.He stood first awarded Gold medals in open music competitions in 1961, 62, 63, 65 and again in 1966. He was music critic of Daily Milap (Urdu & Hindi in 64) Chief Editor of Fortnightly musical magazine Swar Sagar for 7 years.He was honored by “Gandharav Sangeet Samman” from Gandharav Sangeet Mahavidyalya and “Nagar Samaan” from Ghaziabad City Forum, for his achievements and for his own creation and compositions of Raagas upto M.A., Sangeet Praveen and Bhaskar in the field of music.
